Precision Under Concrete: Trenchless Irrigation Installation
Challenge: A local church needed new irrigation lines routed directly beneath a high-traffic concrete walkway. Other contractors declined the job outright, unwilling to risk the existing hardscape.
Solution: SFM’s grounds team deployed a specialized pneumatic boring device (“air mole”) powered by a high-capacity air compressor, tunneling cleanly beneath the concrete and navigating dense subsurface gravel without a single slab removed.
Impact: The project preserved 100% of the existing walkway and avoided the need for concrete replacement, translating into thousands of dollars in cost savings and zero disruption to weekend services.
